Timothy Allan Wald was born the son of Francis C. and Irene M. (Jangula) Wald on October 21, 1954 in Bismarck, ND. He graduated from Red River High School in Grand Forks, ND. Upon graduation, he served in the Army from August 1973 to August 1976 in Korea. He was employed by American Crystal Sugar, went to school to be a lineman in Mandan, ND, and then worked for the City of Grafton, ND, until his electrical accident in 1985. After rehabilitating, he worked as an electrician, then as a lineman supervisor at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. He retired due to an additional injury in 1994. He enjoyed his garden, canning with his mother, and coin collecting. He was an active member of the YMCA, donating produce from his garden to them, and other local charities. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817, the American Legion Post 157 of East Grand Forks, MN, the 32 degree Masons, and the Kem Shrine.

Tim Wald passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND, as a result of a car accident. He was 53. Tim is survived by his wife, Cheryl; two sons, Mathew and Timothy Jr. (TJ) of Bellingham, WA; three daughters, Jamie (Joseph) Bartuska, Missoula, MT, Corie Wald, Bellingham, WA, and Jordyn Wald, Grand Forks; four brothers, Ronald (Robyn) Wald, East Grand Forks, Dwayne Wald, Grand Forks, Kerry Wald, Houston, TX and John Wald, Houston, TX; and three sisters, Cabrini (David) Knapp, Grand Forks, Debra Collette, Grand Forks, and Mary Kay (Glenn) Pridgen, Winnabow, NC.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, August 14, 2008, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grand Forks.
Military Honors from members of the American Legion Post 157 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3817.

I think of Tim often he was a good friend and I miss him.
